Department of German Language

Established independently in 2021 at Chirchiq State Pedagogical University, the German Language Department focuses on enhancing German language teaching and learning through innovative methods and international best practices. It offers bachelor's and master's programs in foreign language and literature, emphasizing intercultural communication, professional orientation, digitalization, and extensive scientific research in linguistics and pedagogy.

Department of German Language: From Foundation to Progress

The Department of German Language was officially established on August 27, 2021, by Resolution No. 1 of the Academic Council of Chirchik State Pedagogical Institute. Initially operating under the Department of Foreign Languages, it quickly evolved into an independent structure with a mission to become a modern center for language education and academic research.

Primary mission: To improve the mechanisms of teaching and learning German through international best practices and within the framework of an innovative pedagogical cluster.

Strategic goals:

✔️ Integration of international teaching programs such as DLL (Deutsch Lehren Lernen);
✔️ Emphasis on intercultural communicative competence;
✔️ Implementation of profession-oriented language instruction;
✔️ Digitalization of teaching and learning processes;
✔️ Development of a research-oriented academic environment to transform the department into an innovation hub.

The department is currently implementing its 2022–2025 Strategic Development Program.


🧪 Scientific Research: Achievements and Future Plans

The Department of German Language is actively engaged in research aligned with the demands of modern education and international collaboration. Partnerships have been established with prestigious institutions in Germany, including:

  • Heidelberg University of Education

  • University of Münster

  • Leibniz Institute for the German Language (IDS Mannheim)

  • Goethe Institutes

Through these collaborations, numerous offline and online classes, scientific seminars, and internships have been conducted. Both faculty and students participate actively in these initiatives.

📈 Achievements for the 2024–2025 Academic Year:

  • 6 Master’s students were assigned scientific supervisors;

  • 15 scientific articles were published (5 in internationally recognized journals and 10 in national ones);

  • 18 conference theses were presented (3 at national and 15 at international conferences);

  • 1 textbook, 2 teaching manuals, and 3 methodological guides were published;

  • 2 PhD candidates and 3 independent researchers are currently preparing dissertations under the department’s supervision.

These achievements contribute significantly to the department’s research capacity and the development of modern pedagogical methods.

ChDPU × PH Heidelberg: student exchange program

Within the five-year agreement signed in 2022, a student exchange program has been launched. The partnership strengthens not only academic exchange but also intercultural dialogue.

Every year, 8 students complete a practicum at ChDPU. They have an opportunity to undertake a one-month teaching practice at the Department of German Language, the ChDPU Academic Lyceum, and School No. 29 in the Bostanliq district.

Department of German Language

“Cooperative Learning in Foreign Language Teaching” — Practical-Methodical Seminar

October 11, 2024 CSPU — Faculty of Tourism Students, Interns, Faculty

At the seminar, faculty members of the department showcased modern innovative methods and interactive technologies that enhance the effectiveness of foreign language teaching. Demonstrations included cooperative learning scenarios, small group activities, and the simulation of real communicative contexts.

International Cooperation · GIP

ChDPU × PH Heidelberg — a bridge of knowledge and experience

Within the framework of the cooperation agreement between Chirchik State Pedagogical University and the Heidelberg University of Education (2022–2027), new opportunities for students’ practice and international communication have opened.

Student Exchange

Each year 4 students from ChDPU complete a one-month teaching practice in Germany, actively participating in university classes. The practice allows them to test their skills in a school environment and experience the academic process from the inside.

DAAD — Summer Language Courses (HSK)

Every October, meetings are held with representatives of DAAD, and the OnSET test is conducted at our university. Individual support is provided for B1-level students, including assistance in preparing documents. So far, 3 of our students have received the HSK scholarship.

GIP Project (2023–2025)

Within the framework of the Germanistische Institutspartnerschaft (GIP), both online and traditional courses are organized for students. Master’s student of the 2nd year, majoring in “Foreign Language and Literature (German language)” X. Mamadiyarova studied in Germany for one semester and successfully returned.

🎯 About the Centre

The Centre was established under the Cooperation Agreement N-IDM-2025/8 signed on 22 August 2025 with IFINS – Institute for International Languages (Siegen, Germany) and the Rector’s Order No. 01-201 dated 3 September 2025 of Chirchiq State Pedagogical University.

Main objectives:

  • promote the German language;

  • implement training and assessment aligned with telc international examinations;

  • strengthen cooperation with Germany’s education and labour markets.


📚 Programmes (telc-oriented)

  • telc Deutsch A1–A2 (prep): basic communication, core grammar & vocabulary, everyday topics.

  • telc Deutsch B1–B2 (prep): independent communication, working with longer texts, listening & writing strategies.

  • telc Deutsch C1 / C2 (prep): academic reading & writing, formal speaking & presentations, intensive exam-format practice.

  • Professional strands (on demand): teacher education, engineering, healthcare, IT — targeted language practice with integrated telc preparation.

  • Groups for youth and adults + one-to-one lessons.

📝 telc examination system

The Centre will gradually organise preparation for and administration of telc (The European Language Certificates) exams. Exact exam dates, registration deadlines and fees will be announced officially.

Preparation stages:

  1. Diagnostics — placement test to determine level;

  2. Modular training — skills development (listening, reading, writing, speaking);

  3. Progress checks — telc-style mini-mocks;

  4. Final rehearsal — pre-exam simulation and consultation;

  5. Official telc exam — administered accordingly.

Indicative durations by track:

  • telc Deutsch A1–A2: 8–12 weeks of preparation;

  • telc Deutsch B1–B2: 10–14 weeks of preparation;

  • telc Deutsch C1 / C1 Hochschule: 12–16 weeks of preparation.
