Department of methods of teaching russian language and literature in groups with other languages

Established in 2017 and restructured into its current form in 2022 under E.S. Sergeeva, this department is dedicated to training highly qualified specialists in teaching Russian as a foreign language. It focuses on developing innovative methodologies, fostering communicative competence in students, and conducting scientific research in multilingual environments. The department also emphasizes international cooperation and cultural exchange, aiming to enhance motivation for learning Russian language and literature through modern teaching technologies and academic mobility programs.

DEPARTMENT OF METHODS OF TEACHING RUSSIAN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE IN GROUPS WITH OTHER LANGUAGES OF INSTRUCTION

Year of Establishment: Began as part of the Department of Languages in 2017, later became an independent department. Heads of Department: A.B. Kasimova (until 2020), A.V. Yekabsons (from September 2021), E.S. Sergeeva (from July 2022 to present).

The department began its activities in 2017 as part of the Department of Languages. By Decision No. 4 of the Institute Council dated October 31, 2020, the Department of Russian Language and Literature was transformed into an independent department, led by A.B. Kasimova. From September 2021, A.V. Yekabsons took over the leadership. Finally, by Decision No. 19 of the Institute Council dated July 29, 2022, the Department of Russian Language and Teaching Methodology was established, led by E.S. Sergeeva. Currently, this department has been renamed the Department of Methods of Teaching Russian Language and Literature in Groups with Other Languages of Instruction.


DEPARTMENT GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

Department Goals:

  • Training highly qualified specialists.
  • Developing methodologies for teaching Russian as a foreign language, considering modern linguistic and pedagogical approaches.
  • Forming communicative competence in students.
  • Developing scientific research in the field of teaching Russian language and literature in groups with other languages of instruction.
  • Expanding international cooperation with foreign educational institutions and research centers.

Department Objectives:

  • Using innovative technologies in teaching, including digital resources, interactive platforms, and multimedia materials.
  • Organizing scientific research on the problems of teaching Russian language and literature in a multilingual environment.
  • Conducting seminars, trainings, and master classes for teachers and students on current issues of teaching methodology.
  • Implementing academic mobility of teachers and students through international exchange and internship programs.
  • Developing intercultural communication and increasing students' motivation to learn Russian language and literature.

SPIRITUAL AND EDUCATIONAL WORK

The spiritual and educational work carried out in higher education institutions plays an important role in shaping students' spiritual and cultural values and in nurturing responsible citizens oriented towards spiritual and moral values.

Within the framework of spiritual and educational work, the following events were held in 2024:

Event dedicated to the great Uzbek poet and thinker Alisher Navoi: This event was held to deeply acquaint students with the life and work of the great figure, and to foster a sense of pride in Uzbekistan's cultural heritage among young people. Alisher Navoi holds a special place in the history of Uzbek literature and culture, and his works remain relevant and significant today.

The main objectives of the event were:

  • To familiarize students with Alisher Navoi's biography, work, and philosophy.
  • To increase interest in studying his literary heritage.
  • To foster a sense of respect and pride for Uzbekistan's cultural heritage among young people.
  • To promote the high ethical and spiritual values in Navoi's works.

Event dedicated to the Day of Remembrance and Honor: The purpose of this event was to commemorate the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and to foster a sense of pride in our homeland and respect for veterans among students and teachers.

Objectives:

  • Organizing cultural and educational events.
  • Engaging students in activities related to the commemoration of Victory.
  • Strengthening a sense of patriotism and historical memory in young people.
