Department of Music

Established in 2019, the Department of Music at Chirchiq State Pedagogical University focuses on training highly qualified music education specialists. It provides in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge, promotes national and global musical culture, and emphasizes modern teaching methods, scientific research, and innovative approaches in music pedagogy. The department also organizes concert programs and fosters collaborations with national and international music events.

Year of Establishment and History of Development The Department of Music was established on August 29, 2019, according to Decision No. 1 of the Council of Chirchiq State Pedagogical Institute in Tashkent region, separating from the "Music Education" department within the "Pedagogy" faculty.

Mission and Objectives of the Department Mission: To train highly qualified music teachers who possess deep theoretical and practical knowledge in music art, can apply modern teaching methods, are capable of promoting national and global musical culture, and are creatively adept and prepared for professional stage performance. 

 Our Goals:

  1. To provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge in music art.
  2. To train highly qualified music teachers using modern educational methods.
  3. To study and promote national and global musical culture.
  4. To develop scientific research and introduce innovative approaches in the field of music.
  5. To develop students' creative abilities and prepare them for the professional stage. 

    Our Tasks:

  6. Teaching subjects in music theory, instrumental performance, vocal art, and pedagogy.
  7. Teaching students various genres of folk and contemporary music.
  8. Conducting scientific work aimed at developing the music education system.
  9. Organizing concert programs with student participation and enhancing their practical experience.
  10. Collaborating with local and international music festivals, competitions, and seminars.
  11. Developing and implementing modern methods of music education.

From September 14 to 22, 2024, within the framework of international cooperation, the faculty members of the Department of Music Education — M. S. Mukhitdinova, O. I. Kimsanov, and A. I. Umarova — conducted 30 hours of traditional in-person classes at the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University (Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan) based on an interuniversity agreement. The classes were delivered in the disciplines “Harmony,” “Methods of Teaching Music,” and “Folk Instruments Orchestra.”

On November 29, 2023, an interuniversity memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Aktobe Regional University named after K. Zhubanov (Republic of Kazakhstan). Within the framework of this memorandum, representatives of the Department of Music and ChoreographyProfessor N. Mukeeva and Master’s student Zh. Kadir — visited the city of Chirchik from October 21 to 28, 2024. During the visit, they conducted open classes in the course “Methods of Teaching Music” for students majoring in Music Education.

Within the same memorandum, from November 18 to 22, 2024, a group of faculty members of the Department of Music Education of Chirchik State Pedagogical University, including Head of the Department O. G. Yunusov, Associate Professor Sh. R. Makhkamova, and Senior Lecturer M. A. Asadullaeva, visited the Aktobe Regional University named after K. Zhubanov.

On November 20, 2024, the faculty members participated with presentations in the International Scientific and Practical Conference entitled
“Problems and Prospects of Modern Music Education Culture and Art,” organized by the Department of Music and Choreography.

In addition, three faculty members conducted master classes for students in the disciplines “Methods of Teaching Music,” “Vocal Performance,” and “Uzbek Folk Musical Creativity.”

                                                                       “SHODLIK FOLKLORE ENSEMBLE” Club.

              The main goal of this club is to form students’ academic skills in folk oral art, lapars, olans, termars, folklore singing, to give them excellent knowledge of the psychology of singing folk songs in groups and individually, organizing folklore groups, and to instill the qualities of team leadership. Based on the goal of the club, a number of tasks are carried out in group and individual lessons.

              To learn the nature of group and individual and collective singing, didactic principles, and other laws. To become directly acquainted with folk singing and folklore repertoires and to have a high artistic taste in their selection.

              To feel the psycho-physiological changes that occur in the human body in the process of singing in a group and working with it, and to develop skills for it.

              To know the requirements for an Uzbek folk singer and the leadership of a folklore ethnographic group, and to learn methods for independent application in practice.

                     "Music Theorists" Scientific Circle

                  "Music Theorists" Scientific Circle is a scientific and creative space for creative students who want to deeply understand the internal laws of music, the magic of melody and rhythm.

                  During the activities of the circle, participants:

                  •   develop musical thinking and strengthen their theoretical knowledge;

                  •    learn to analyze musical works at a professional level;

                  •   get acquainted with the national and world musical heritage;

                  •    improve their hearing, solfeggio and sense of rhythm;

                  •    acquire the skills of conducting independent scientific research;

                  •   actively participate in seminars, master classes and creative meetings;

                  •   present their ideas and research at conferences and competitions.

                 The club is an environment where knowledge, creativity, and musical thinking are combined, serving to form future qualified music educators and researchers.

                  “Soz Sehri” Club

                 “Soz Sehri” is a creative space that awakens the soul to the sounds of national instruments, allows you to feel music and discover yourself through creativity.

                 During the club sessions, participants:

                 •   get acquainted with the magical world of national and traditional instrumental music;

                 •   gradually develop their performance skills;

                 •   learn to express emotions through music;

                 •    master ensemble and solo performance skills;

                 •   form stage culture and creative freedom;

                 •    strengthen respect and love for the national musical heritage;

                 •   actively participate in concerts, festive events and creative meetings.

               “Soz Sehri” is not only a club, but also a source of inspiration that combines talent, tradition and modern creativity through the magical melodies of music.

                      “Mehr” Student Theater Studio

                “Mehr” is a creative space that illuminates the human soul, feelings and realities of life through the performing arts. The theater studio brings together talented, inquisitive and art-loving students and reveals their acting and creative potential.

                  Students working in the studio:

              •    master acting skills, stage speech and movement culture;

              •    work on dramatic works and artistic images;

              •    develop the skills of creating with a team and performing freely on stage;

              •    stage examples of national and world drama;

              •    enrich spiritual and aesthetic thinking through theater;

              •    actively participate in various competitions and festivals.

                  The “Mehr” student theater studio is also notable for its achievements:

              •     In 2021, it won 1st place in the Republican Theater Competition;

              •     In 2022, it won the Grand Prix at the Usman Nasir Competition.

                   Today, “Mehr” is a theater studio that combines stage, talent, and love, making students' creative dreams come true.

                    “TARANNUM” Folk Instrument Orchestra Club

                 “TARANNUM” is a creative orchestra school that combines the rich traditions of national music and the power of collective performance. The club serves to improve students' musical thinking, performance culture and stage experience through the melodies of folk instruments.

                  The orchestra consists of 30 talented students studying at the 1st, 2nd and 3rd levels. They master harmonious performance with the team, responsibility and professional stage culture through practical exercises.

                  During the club's activities, participants:

               •   develop the skills of performing as part of an orchestra on folk instruments;

               •   study national and modern works in a collective interpretation;

               •   learn to work with a conductor and feel the harmony of the ensemble;

               •   improves musical hearing, rhythm and accuracy of performance;

               •   participates in concerts, festive events and cultural projects.

                  The "TARANNUM" folk instrument orchestra is a creative space where melody, community and national spirit are combined, serving to form future professional performers.
