Department of Physical Culture and Sports
Re-established in 2023 at Chirchiq State Pedagogical University, the Department of Physical Culture and Sports develops and manages physical culture and sports through science, education, and innovation. It focuses on enhancing the quality of physical education by integrating international best practices, offering courses in physical culture and sports for various bachelor's programs, and conducting research in sports methodology, health promotion, and pedagogical theories.
Year of Establishment and History of Development The Department of Physical Culture and Sports was initially established on August 27, 2019, by Order No. 01–660 of the Rector of Chirchiq State Pedagogical Institute of Tashkent region, as "Interfaculty Physical Education" within the Faculty of Sports and Pre-conscription Military Education. It was renamed to "Methodology of Physical Culture" by Order No. 01-215 of Chirchiq State Pedagogical University on August 29, 2022. Subsequently, by Order No. 01-242 of the Rector dated October 27, 2023, it was re-established as the "Department of Physical Culture and Sports." A.R.Abdulaxatov was appointed as the head of the department by Decision No. 1 of the Scientific Council of Chirchiq State Pedagogical University. Currently, the department employs 2 PhDs, associates, 3 senior lecturers, and 4 lecturers. The department teaches physical education as a subject for non-physical culture specializations.
Mission and Objectives of the Department Mission: To manage and develop physical culture and sports through advancements in science, education, and innovation, and to improve it based on foreign experience. Our Goals:
- Establishing close cooperation with international universities, analyzing their educational achievements, and applying them to enhance the quality of physical culture education and personnel training.
- Expanding international cooperation – establishing partnerships with universities, the scientific community, and educational projects. The department is implementing its medium-term strategic development program (for 2022-2025).

Scientific Research Directions and Projects The Department of Physical Culture and Sports is actively engaged in scientific research in several strategic areas. These directions aim to conduct scientific research that meets modern educational demands, expand cooperation with national and international scientific communities, and achieve practical results: The department's scientific research areas include:
- Theory and methodology of physical education, sports training, health promotion, and adaptive physical education.
- Theory of pedagogy and history of pedagogical doctrines. These directions contribute to enhancing the department's scientific research potential and developing new modern methodologies.
