Museum of Repression Victims' Memory

The Museum of Remembrance of the Victims of Repression at Chirchik State Pedagogical University was established on September 18, 2019, based on Resolution No. 936 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dated November 22, 2017. Its main goal is to immortalize the memory of fellow citizens unjustly persecuted during the colonial and totalitarian periods and to convey the truth about their lives and sacrifices to the public.

The museum features eight thematic and chronological sections. These include historical documents, photographs, personal belongings, and other visual materials related to the period of repression.

In 2024, the museum’s operations were guided by Presidential Decree No. F-5598 and Resolution No. PQ-270. Research was conducted using rich archival materials from the Tashkent and Fergana regions. Special attention was given to individuals falsely accused in the “Cotton Case” and those who were exiled or dispossessed.

Museum staff compiled and published the books "Historical Memory is Priceless I & II", as well as Volume I of the Tashkent Region Book of Remembrance. Work on Volume II is currently in progress.

The museum also actively participates in educational and cultural competitions, art exhibitions, and various initiatives among higher education institutions, contributing to fostering patriotism, justice, and respect for historical memory among the younger generation.
