About the Department The Tourism Department was established on August 23, 2021, as part of the "Tourism" Faculty, in accordance with Resolution No. 213 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 14, 2021. Initially operating under the name "Department of General Professional and Specialization Subjects," its name was changed to the "Tourism Department" by the extended decision No. 1 of the Council of Chirchiq State Pedagogical University on August 29, 2024, and it currently operates under this name. The department is located at Chirchiq State Pedagogical University, Building 4, Room 306.

Educational Directions Starting from the 2021-2022 academic year, a total of 125 quotas (25 for each) were allocated for full-time and part-time education in the following 4 directions within the new Faculty of Tourism:

• 61010100 - Organization and Management of Hotel Business
• 61010400 - Tourism (by areas of activity)
• 61010500 - Guide and Translation Activities (by languages)
• 61010600 - Technology of Services in Tourism and their Organization

Mission and Goals of the Department The primary goal and objectives of the Tourism Department are to train highly qualified specialists. Our main goals:

• Training highly qualified specialists with knowledge and skills in the field of tourism.
• Introducing students to modern trends and innovations in the tourism sector.
• Developing scientific research in tourism and creating educational and methodological materials.

Objectives:

• Conducting scientific and practical research in tourism, studying directions in the development of national and international tourism.
• Organizing professional development courses in tourism, establishing cooperation with experienced specialists.
• Introducing scientific and practice-oriented methodologies in the student training process.
• Analyzing economic, cultural, and social factors in the tourism sector and developing proposals for tourism development based on them.
• Familiarizing students with hotel operations.
• Organizing internships and practical training in cooperation with tourism companies and organizations to develop practical skills in students in the tourism sector.
• Developing tourism through the use of modern digital platforms and technologies, exploring new directions in online services and electronic tourism.
• Organizing events related to cultural, historical, and national heritage within tourism, and engaging students in issues related to local and international cultural heritage.
