Shermatova Umida was born on February 11, 1976, in the city of Tashkent

In 1993, she completed secondary general education at an 11-year comprehensive school.

From 1993 to 1998, she studied at Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami.

During 1998–1999, she pursued her studies at the Master’s program of Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami.

Shermatova Umida began her professional career in 1999 as a teacher of Uzbek language and literature at Secondary General Education School No. 6 in the city of Chirchiq.
From 2004 to 2017, she worked as a teacher of Uzbek language and literature at the Chirchiq City Technical College.
Since 2018, she has been working as an Associate Professor at the Department of Uzbek Literary Studies, Chirchiq State Pedagogical University.

In 2023, she successfully defended her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) dissertation in Pedagogical Sciences entitled “Pedagogical Conditions for the Use of Historical and Literary-Artistic Sources in the Formation of Students’ Patriotic Feelings (on the Example of Cholpon’s Works).”
Currently, she is preparing her doctoral dissertation on the topic “Methodological Foundations for Organizing Differentiated Literary Education in Presidential and Specialized Creative Schools under the Conditions of the New Uzbekistan.”

Shermatova Umida actively conducts activities within the framework of the innovative pedagogical education cluster at the Department of Uzbek Literary Studies. She also plays an active role in maintaining cooperative relations between the department and general secondary education schools of the Tashkent region.

Under her supervision, five Master’s theses and one Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) dissertation in Pedagogical Sciences have been successfully defended.

In 2023, Shermatova Umida successfully defended her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) dissertation in Pedagogical Sciences entitled “Pedagogical Conditions for the Use of Historical and Literary-Artistic Sources in the Formation of Students’ Patriotic Feelings (on the Example of Cholpon’s Creative Works).”

The scientific and methodological works of the scholar-methodologist in the fields of mother tongue teaching methodology, children’s literature, and literature teaching methodology have made a significant contribution to the development of secondary, secondary specialized, and higher education.
