Farangiz Alimova Oybek qizi is married and a mother of one child.
At the early stages of her scientific career, Farangiz Alimova focused on studying members of the Lamiaceae family under the climatic conditions of Uzbekistan, particularly their traditional uses in folk medicine, bioactivity, and ethnobotanical significance. She investigated how these plants are utilized by local populations, systematized ethnobotanical data, and identified the pharmacological potential of certain species.
Currently, her research is dedicated to the study of wild edible plants in the Bostanlik district. Within this framework, she analyzes their nutritional value, traditional knowledge of local communities regarding their use, and the role of such knowledge in ensuring food security and enhancing ecosystem resilience. Special attention is paid to the ecological importance of these plants, their role in biodiversity, and the development of sustainable biological resource management mechanisms.
Practical Significance of the Research
In Science:
Study of the natural flora of the Bostanlik region, providing scientific justification for the ethnobotanical and ecological characteristics of wild plants.
In Agriculture:
Evaluation of wild plants as a potential food reserve, and assessment of their potential for breeding and domestication.
In Plant Protection and Quarantine:
Development of measures for the rational use of biological resources and the prevention of the extinction of rare species.
In Higher Education:
Training students in the fields of ethnobotany and ecological sustainability, as well as integrating research findings into the educational process.
In Sustainable Development:
Designing strategies to strengthen ecosystem stability and ensure food security through traditional knowledge.
