About the Faculty of Natural Sciences

The Faculty of Natural Sciences at Chirchik State Pedagogical Institute (now University) was initially established in 2017 under the name "Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences." A crucial document concerning the organization of the Faculty of Natural Sciences was signed on August 31, 2019. According to this document, the "Faculty of Natural Sciences" officially separated from the "Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences" to become an independent faculty by order No. 01-642 of the Institute's Rector dated August 31, 2019.

Currently, the faculty educates a total of 1328 students in modern, well-equipped auditoriums and laboratories across various educational programs:

• 694 students in full-time bachelor's programs.
• 29 students in full-time master's programs.
• 407 students in distance and second higher education programs.
• 198 students in evening programs.

The faculty's academic staff consists of 49 professors and instructors, including:

• 8 Doctors of Science, Professors.
• 20 Doctors of Philosophy (Candidates of Science).
• 21 Professors and Instructors.

The faculty offers bachelor's, master's, and basic doctoral (PhD) programs in Biology, Geography, and Fundamentals of Geography and Economic Knowledge. Students can pursue their studies in full-time, distance, evening, and master's formats.

Faculty Mission and Objectives

Faculty Mission: The primary task of the faculty is to implement advanced practices in biological and geographical sciences and to enhance the faculty's international image based on the integration of theory and practice.

Faculty Objectives:

• To prepare competitive specialists with 21st-century skills by improving the content of biology and geography education and its educational-methodological provision, based on current demands.
• To foster a healthy competitive environment and increase the faculty's international attractiveness.
• To enhance the faculty's image by training teachers of international caliber.

Faculty International Cooperation

The Faculty of Natural Sciences has established cooperative relations with a number of foreign higher education institutions, including:

• A memorandum of cooperation has been signed between Lomonosov Moscow State University (Russia) and Chirchik State Pedagogical University.
• Joint double-degree programs (dual diplomas) in the "Biology" bachelor's degree program have been launched in cooperation with Mogilev State University named after A.A. Kuleshov (Republic of Belarus). Additionally, master's specialists are being trained in the "Biology" master's specialization.
• A memorandum of cooperation has been concluded with Quaid-i-Azam University (Pakistan), and professors and instructors have been engaged in teaching disciplines at the department. Furthermore, young teachers of the Biology Department, F. Alimova and T. Abdusamatov, have been assigned to professors Sh. Sultana and Ahmad Mushtaq, respectively, for mentorship.
• A memorandum has been signed between Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University (Republic of Kazakhstan) and Chirchik State Pedagogical University. Based on this memorandum, Nurkasim Nurtazayevich Yerbolatov, a doctoral student from Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, will undertake a one-month internship at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Chirchik State Pedagogical University under the supervision of Professor A.K. Rakhimov.
• Based on the cooperation agreement signed between M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University (Republic of Kazakhstan) and Chirchik State Pedagogical University, Professor A.K. Rakhimov from the Department of Genetics and Evolutionary Biology conducted classes and underwent an internship at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University from December 9-20, 2024.
• Based on the cooperation agreement signed between Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University (Republic of Kazakhstan) and Chirchik State Pedagogical University, Associate Professor S.K. Djumabayeva from the "Geography" Department was on a business trip to Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University from October 7-12, 2024, and conducted 30 hours of traditional classes.

Faculty Campus and Infrastructure

The Faculty of Natural Sciences is located in the university's second academic building. Its infrastructure includes classrooms, a "Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics" laboratory, an agro-bio-geo educational-scientific-pedagogical experimental field complex located around the academic building, as well as greenhouse and mushroom cultivation centers.
