Department of Uzbek Linguistics

Established in 2018 and further refined in 2021, the Department of Uzbek Linguistics at Chirchik State Pedagogical University is dedicated to elevating the status and prestige of the Uzbek language. It aims to enhance its teaching through interdisciplinary integration and ensure its active role in modern information technologies. The department trains specialists in Uzbek and Kazakh languages and literature at both undergraduate and graduate levels, focusing on innovative pedagogical methods and linguistic research, including linguoculturology and cognitive linguistics, to strengthen national and international linguistic standing.

DEPARTMENT OF UZBEK LINGUISTICS

Year of Establishment: 2018 Location: Chirchik State Pedagogical University, Faculty of Humanities.

In accordance with Decision No. 1 of the Council of Chirchik State Pedagogical Institute of Tashkent Region, adopted on August 27, 2018, the "Uzbek Language and Literature" department separated from the "Languages" department of the "History and Languages" faculty and began its operations. Subsequently, by Decision No. 1 of the Institute Council, dated August 23, 2021, the "Uzbek Linguistics" department separated from the "Uzbek Language and Literature" department. In addition to teaching relevant subjects, the department's faculty members also conduct scientific research on various topics.

Currently, 16 professors and teachers work at the department. This includes: 1 Doctor of Sciences, Professor; 5 Candidates of Sciences, Associate Professors; and 10 Lecturers.

DEPARTMENT GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

Department Mission: To enhance the prestige and status of the Uzbek language and ensure interdisciplinary integration in teaching Uzbek.

Our Objectives:

Further improve the system of teaching the Uzbek language and raise its status as a language of science.
Ensure the active integration of the Uzbek language into modern information technologies and communications.
Widely promote the study of the Uzbek language within the Republic and in foreign countries.
Increase the international status and prestige of the Uzbek language by participating with articles and theses in international journals and conferences.

SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH DIRECTIONS AND PROJECTS

The Department of Uzbek Linguistics conducts scientific research in several strategic directions:

On improving the teaching of the Uzbek language based on interdisciplinary integration: This involves creating scientific research aimed at improving the teaching of the state language, widely promoting the capabilities of the Uzbek language, and training qualified specialists in the field of Uzbek language and literature at bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels. Research on teaching the Uzbek language based on the innovative cluster of pedagogical education: This includes improving cooperation with General Education Schools No. 4 and 5 in Chirchik city, which are attached to the Faculty of Humanities by Resolution No. PQ-289 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 2, 2022. It also involves conducting experimental work based on research results in school laboratories, developing co-authored educational and methodological manuals based on the specifics of the subject, and increasing the number of publications in Web of Science and Scopus databases in cooperation with professors, teachers, and school teachers. Research on improving linguocultural competence in future Kazakh language and literature teachers: In the field of Kazakh language and literature, problems of linguoculturology and cognitive linguistics are analyzed from cognitive and pragmatic perspectives. Methodology for linguistic expertise of native language and literature textbooks for grades 5-7 of general secondary schools: Research aimed at forming students' communicative and creative skills has been one of the department's important priorities.
