Ravshankhodja Rasulov was born on October 20, 1946 in Tashkent into an intelligent family.
From 1965 to 1970, he studied at the Faculty of Philology of Tashkent State University (NUU).
The scientist began his career at the Nizami State University of Political Science in 1972. He worked as a researcher at the university and also served as the editor of the university's scientific works.
In 1975, R. Rasulov defended his candidate's thesis on the topic of the expression of syntactic relations between words in the epic poem "Alpomish", and in 1989 he defended his doctoral thesis on the topic "Verbs of state in the Uzbek language and their valencies".
In 1975-1990, he served as an associate professor of the department of general linguistics at the university, in 1990-1999, 2003-2010, he was a professor and head of the department of "General Linguistics".
In 1991-2018, he served as a member of the councils for the defense of doctoral and candidate dissertations at the Institute of Language, Literature and Folklore of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the National Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent State University of Languages and Literature, and the Tashkent State University of Languages and Literature.
In 1993-1995, 1999-2002, 2018-2022, he served as an expert in philological sciences, deputy chairman of the expert group, and chairman of the group.
In 1994, he participated in the 2nd Congress of "Friendship, Brotherhood and Cooperation" held in Izmir, Turkey, as part of the Uzbek delegation.
In 1996, he became an Honored Worker of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and a member of the Creative Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan.
In 2000-2002, he worked as the head of the "Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment" in the A.Ikramov district administration of Tashkent city on a rotational basis.
In 2001, by the decision of the Academic Council of the Nizami Tashkent State Pedagogical University, he was awarded the title of "Professor for Distinguished Service".
In 2001, 2006, 2021, he was awarded the medals of the 10th, 15th and 30th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In 2006, 2011, 2020, he became the winner of the Republican competitions “Author of the Best Textbook and Educational Literature of the Year” and “Best Methodology of Teaching the Uzbek Language”.
In 2023, he was awarded the 1st degree Labor Medal.
One of the prominent leaders of Uzbek linguistics, a brilliant linguist, Professor R. Rasulov, during his almost 60 years of work in higher education, has created scientifically and theoretically strong, excellent works in the fields of linguistics: lexicology, semasiology, lexicography, syntax, speech culture, general linguistics and the Uzbek language. These are: 1. Monograph (6). 2. Textbook (6). 3. Educational and teaching-methodical manuals (19), dictionaries (2), articles (about 200), lectures (more than 20), responsible editorship (about 20). Scientific consulting and guidance (more than 10), opponentship (about 30).
Professor R. Rasulov's works have been published in the USA, Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan, Tatarstan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in Uzbek, Russian, English and Turkish languages.
One of R. Rasulov's serious and important achievements in Uzbek linguistics during the period of independence is a series of educational manuals and textbooks he created in the most complex scientific-theoretical-philosophical discipline, "General Linguistics".
As an educational innovator, R. Rasulov is the author of the method “Identifying and Increasing Distraction or Vigilance”, which is currently in use under the name “Professor R. Rasulov Method” (Language and Literature Education, vol. 2015, No. 11, p. 23).
The theoretical scientist's works include "State verbs in the Uzbek language and their obligatory valencies" (T., 1989), "Lexico-semantic groups of state verbs and their valency" (T., 1991), "Meaning structure of Uzbek verbs" (T., 2005), "Problems of theoretical grammar of the Uzbek language" (T., 2019), "Uzbek language" (T., 2005), "Speech culture and the art of oratory" (T., 2011), "Study of lexicology" (T., 1992), "Explanatory dictionary of descriptive expressions of the Uzbek language" (T., 1997), "Teacher's speech culture and the art of oratory" (T., 2020), "Fundamentals of the Uzbek language system lexicology" (T., 2021), A number of monographs, textbooks, and manuals, such as "General Linguistics" (T., 2010, 2021), "Uzbek Diplomatic Speech" (T., 2015), "Theory of Linguistics" (T., 2024), "Speech Culture and the Art of Oratory" (T., 2025), are worthy of attention and praise for being dedicated to current issues of our language.
