Department of Linguistics and English Language Teaching Methodology

Established independently in 2023 at Chirchiq State Pedagogical University, the Department of Linguistics and English Language Teaching Methodology trains future English language teachers. It offers bachelor's and master's programs focused on modern linguistics, translation studies, and innovative teaching methods, while also conducting advanced scientific research in these fields.

Establishment and Development of the Department

The Department of Linguistics and English Language Teaching Methodology was originally founded as the Department of Foreign Languages within the Faculty of Humanities of Chirchiq State Pedagogical Institute, in accordance with Decision No. 1 of the Institute Council dated August 28, 2019.

Later, based on Protocol No. 1 dated August 23, 2021, the department was transferred to the Faculty of Tourism under the name Department of English Language. Finally, according to Protocol No. 5 dated October 27, 2023, it was restructured as an independent unit under the name Department of Linguistics and English Language Teaching Methodology.

At present, the department employs 17 academic staff members, including 9 full-time lecturers, 5 internal part-time lecturers, and 3 external part-time lecturers. Among them are 1 professor, 3 associate professors, and 3 senior lecturers. The department is headed by PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Mukhabbat Anatolevna Yusupova.

  • 9 master’s students were assigned scientific supervisors

  • 55 research articles published (27 in international journals indexed by OAK, 28 in Uzbekistan OAK-listed journals)

  • 46 theses published (16 theses at national conferences, 30 theses at international conferences)

  • Faculty produced 1 textbook, 3 teaching manuals, 7 monographs, and 3 DGAs

  • 11 doctoral candidates and 4 independent researchers are currently pursuing research under the department
